]]> We’ve noticed your excitement about homecoming and wanted to address a few rumors we have heard. Yes, it is true that we will not have mechanical rides for this year’s festival, but our committee has worked very hard to provide an entertaining week for everyone! New for 2026, we will be partnering with Reel Time Events to host a community movie night on Wednesday of homecoming, followed by inflatables, mini golf, and laser tag on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday provided by Hero’s Party Experience! (who have also provided inflatables for the Lucas County Fair and Toledo Mudhens)
We understand that change can be hard, but we hope that this year’s homecoming will be one for the books! Our competitions, parade, and other events will go on as usual. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more information on our 2026 Gibsonburg Homecoming Festival!

The Madison Township Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Department received there new truck today, 2026 Pierce Paccar Pumper. It will be placed in service within less than a month. Along with the truck, New battery operated Jaws Of Life "Homatro" brand tools will be installed. This truck will be replacing the current 1994 Pierce Freightliner Pumper (Unit G4). More information to follow on the fire department website.

The Village of Gibsonburg is excited to welcome Troy deAnda Jr. as our Youth Sports Coordinator!

Troy is currently pursuing a degree in Sports Management and has a strong background in coaching (currently a Basketball Coach at Gibsonburg Middle School and formerly an Assistant Football Coach at Toledo Rogers), sports marketing and sports content creation.

Troy will be working with all sports under the Village umbrella including: Baseball, Softball, Soccer and Flag Football.

Troy will be working to set up coaches meetings for each sport in the coming weeks.

Please be patient as he adjusts to his role, but he can be reached at HERE for questions.

Also be on the lookout for all inclusive Gibsonburg Youth Sports social media information soon!

As discussed at the January 8, 2025 Council Meeting, Frontier Communications has submitted proper Right Of Way Permits and Plans for the implementation of fiber optic cable within the corporation limits of the Village of Gibsonburg.
Plans have been reviewed by staff, questions were addressed during an in person meeting with Frontier last week and the Right Of Way Work Permits have been signed.
Please be advised that the project will begin in the coming weeks and it is expected to last 3 months or less (weather dependent).
*With the exception of two areas: near the High School and on Linden Avenue and the implementation of the hub boxes, the majority of the project will be an aerial build that will go from utility pole to utility pole*
Once the project begins, Frontier will place door hangers at the residences in the areas where they will be working and a contact list for concerns/issues will be published
