Weather forecasts for this week are calling for some dangerously cold temperatures. While we all know that the weather in Northwest Ohio can and does change in an instant, if the forecast stays true and these extreme temperatures do arrive early next week, please remember:
1. Don’t leave pets outside in the sever cold weather.
2. Check on elderly or disabled neighbors to make sure they’re ok.
3. Keep heaters away from flammable items.
4. If you need to be outside, limit that time and dress in layers.
5. If you have pipes in your house that could freeze: Consider wrapping them with insulation, Know how to shut off your water inside your house, If pipes are in cabinets or vanities open the doors to let warmer room temperatures flow in, Keep water moving through pipes by allowing a small trickle of hot and cold water to run.
